Day 1: Arrival in Kigali – Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your Boscard Tours & Travel representative. If your flight arrives early, enjoy a brief tour of Kigali, including optional visits to the Kigali Genocide Memorial, local craft markets, or the Presidential Museum.

After lunch, depart Kigali and drive through Rwanda’s beautiful countryside towards Volcanoes National Park. The journey offers spectacular views of green hills, tea plantations, traditional villages, and volcanic landscapes.

Arrive at your lodge in the late afternoon. Relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings while preparing for the following day’s gorilla trekking adventure.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park

After an early breakfast, transfer to the Volcanoes National Park headquarters for registration and a detailed briefing by experienced park rangers.

You will be assigned a habituated gorilla family before setting off on your trek through bamboo forests and lush mountain vegetation. The trek may last between one and six hours depending on the location of the gorillas.

Once found, you’ll spend one unforgettable hour observing these magnificent primates in their natural habitat. Watch playful juveniles, protective silverbacks, and nurturing mothers as they go about their daily lives just a few metres away.

After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation. In the afternoon, you may choose to visit the Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village to experience traditional Rwandan music, dance, and local customs.

Day 3: Volcanoes National Park – Kigali – Departure

Enjoy breakfast before checking out of your lodge. Drive back to Kigali while taking in Rwanda’s spectacular countryside one last time.

If time permits, stop for souvenir shopping or enjoy lunch at one of Kigali’s excellent restaurants before your transfer to Kigali International Airport for your onward flight.
